Automation and Manufacturing Animated Explainer Videos
At Grow Animation Studios, we’ve produced several Automation and Manufacturing Animated Explainer Videos for different companies of various sizes and using different styles. The themes presented here range from warehouse drone management, laboratory automation, industrial cooling machines, and RFID devices. Due to the fact that many of these themes include warehouses, several videos are produced using the 2.5D Isometric Style. As you can see in the examples below, it is a great fit for these themes. In this post, besides completed projects, we also share production insights, cost estimates, and customer reviews.
Places where the videos are used include:
- Website/Landing page
- Event Booths
- Youtube Channel
- Social Media

Project 1 – Warehouse Drone Management

The first example belongs to Verity, an innovative company that is experiencing a lot of success with its drone solution to manage warehouse inventories. The objective of the video is to present the typical day of a warehouse that leverages this technology. The animation depicts how the warehouse workers work alongside the drones and the benefits brought by this technology.
The graphical style and illustrations were produced to accurately represent the layout of a warehouse where the drones operate. The video was well received, and it marked the beginning of a partnership that continues to result in additional videos. The client provided the voice narration, while we were responsible for the background music and sound effects.
Project 2 – Laboratory Automation – Automation and Manufacturing Animated Explainer Videos

The second example belongs to Curiox Biosystems, a laboratory automation company. This video presents one of their products, Pluto-ALPHA, an innovative machine designed to automate the cell washing process. Throughout the video, we understand the limitations of current technologies and how a better solution is possible.
The video follows a graphical design established previously. This also applies to the product design visual, leveraged by the client on other marketing materials, too. Our successful partnership with Curiox has resulted in over six videos, made for product launches or new features. This Pluto-ALPHA video also includes a simplified software interface. The goal is to introduce a high-level view of specific features.
Project 3 – Industrial Cooling System

Huber-Ranner is the company behind the third example. It presents the installation of a revolutionary industrial cooling system. The video is comprised of different clips showcasing various parts of the installation process and how it saves time compared to traditional solutions. Touching on the time pain point is very relevant to the target audience. The lower the factory downtime is, the more efficient it becomes.
The main goal for this video is to have a captivating depiction of the system to use on event booths. To produce an accurate product representation, we looked at several product photos and discussed the details with the client. The primary color is the brand blue, being complemented by a matching orange/yellow.
Project 4 – RFID Device – Automation and Manufacturing Animated Explainer Videos

The fourth and last example belongs to Modjoul, an employee safety and asset management company. With the focus on warehouse operations, the 2.5D isometric style fits very well for this technology. You can see graphical representations of the product in the images above. The video presents the three main features of this device. Some include employee/device interaction with the device, use cases, and software analytics.
Below is the video that talks about employee safety and company benefits. There is another video concerning the asset management side of the RFID technology. As usual, the colors from the brand style guide are with touches of complementary colors for some highlights.

Final Remarks

While all the videos shown here involve character animation, we also produce different styles. One example is the Motion Graphic Videos. They usually involve sourcing and editing video footage and combining it with clear and captivating animations.
Regarding the animation production cost, it ranges from $1700/$2200 for a 1-minute animation. Still, there are some ways to reduce this cost, making it possible to achieve a cost of around $900 for a 1-minute animation.
The main factor in determining the exact cost is the animation style. An animation with a more standardized style has a lower cost in contrast with a more unique and personalized style. Other options include taking advantage of text-only scenes or incorporating video footage. Editing footage has a much lower cost than producing animation, and the same goes for the text scenes.
No matter your budget, we’re usually able to find a solution that works for you. We’ve written a post detailing how to reduce the explainer video cost. You can use the form below or visit our website to ask any questions or request a project quote.
